I'm happy, the constrast between the two shades of grey thread is subtile enough. I failed on my feather but that doesn't matter. It is really different of everything I've done before, and I'm pleased with that.
Nettoyage difficile / Hard time cleaning
Habituellement, la craie s'efface très facilement. À vrai dire, elle s'efface dès qu'on coud dessus. Mais pas cette fois-ci. Voici les différentes techniques utilisées.
Usually, chalk pencil is really easy to remove. It goes out as soon as you sew on it. Not this time. Here is what I tried to remove it.
1. Serviette mouillée / Wet towel
D'habitude, c'est assez, cette fois-ci, no.
Usually that's the trick. Not this time.
Removed just a little chalk.
3. Trempage à l'eau chaude et détersif / Soak in hot water and detergent
Trempage d'environ 30 minutes, et frottage manuel léger. Pas encore assez.
Soak for 30 minutes and little rub. Not enough
The chalk is especially difficult to remove under quilting line. The toothbrush is not enough.
5. Shout
Triyng out a stain remover with the toothbrush: miracle ! Instantly disapearing. It's like killing a fly with a bazooka, way too much. But it is working.

Pour Ma. - 4e partie
Parallels lines are completed, as well as the FMQ frames. Lines are finally 1/2" apart and not 1/4".
For the first time, I used two colors of thread on the top: dark grey for the lines and medium gray to enlight FMQ.
For the backing, only one colorr has been used. The tension is good, we can't see the other thread on the backing. I found only one bird nest, so I will live it it.
Everybody say to test your marking tool on every new fabric. Et who has not: me ! The chalk pencil is hard to remove on the dark grey fabric. I'll need to wash out the quilt completely.

For the left and right sides, I'm following the quilted lines, and not measuring from side to side. I'm cutting à 3/4" from the last quilted line.
Biais / Binding
I always use a 2 1/4" biais strip. I like my biais to be thin and full. I often leave a 1/8" additionnal fabric outside of the biais, to have it really full.

Pour Ma. - 3e partie
I'll try to
make this blog bilingual, I apologize myself in advance to those who will read
me in english.
J'ai commencé à faire mon piquage, à partir du modèle #4
publié précedemment. Je me suis
également inscrite au cours Creative Quilting with your Walking Foot de Craftsy, question d'apprendre quelques
trucs pour me simplier la vie. Premier
I begun my
quilting, using the 4th design I posted previously. I also subscribe to Craftsy class Creative Quilting with your Walking Foot, to
learn some tricks before beginning.
First tip, use a registration line, along with the baseline to help to keep
your lines straight.
Test / Testing
I did a quick test to dermine the space betweem my quilting lines. Half a inch doesn't have much impact, I'll go with a quarter inch, teacher's favorite.

Planification / Planning
I plan to quilt the frames first, then the vertical lines. And the FQM in frame at last. To trace the frames, I used a chalk pencil, to make the lines very visibles. I try an Hera Marker and a 24" ruler to mark the vertical lines and it worked out really well on a dark and solid fabric. I also tried a gadget to trace lines with a chalk, but the lines are too thin. In the end, I think I prefer chalk.
